For over 50 years, FILCAS has been an active and dedicated presence in Saskatchewan, proudly supporting and enriching the province’s Filipino community.

Through events like Kalayaan, the Philippines Pavilion at Folkfest, and a wide range of new and dynamic initiatives, FILCAS continues to play a vital role in celebrating culture, fostering connection, and uplifting the Filipino-Canadian community across the province.

PHILIPPINES PAVILION

For more than 45 years, FILCAS has proudly hosted the Philippines Pavilion at Folkfest, bringing the vibrant spirit of Filipino heritage to the heart of our community. This long-standing tradition is more than just a showcase—it's a celebration of culture, community, and connection.

This year’s pavilion is bursting with talent and flavor, featuring performances by the dynamic KFE Cultural Group, the energetic youth of Flip Kidz, and the Zumbounz dance crew. From traditional folk dances to contemporary beats, our performers represent the beauty and diversity of the Filipino experience.

No visit to the Philippines Pavilion would be complete without a taste of home. Our Sari-Sari Stores and local food vendors are serving up authentic Filipino cuisine—from savory favorites like adobo and lumpia to sweet treats like halo-halo and leche flan.

As always, the heart of this event is our volunteers and community members who continue to make the Philippines Pavilion a welcoming and unforgettable experience. With over four decades of history behind us, FILCAS remains committed to sharing the richness of Filipino culture with pride and joy.

KALAYAAN

June 2025 has been officially declared Filipino Heritage Month—a time to honour and celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of the Filipino community in Canada.

In recognition of this meaningful month, FILCAS is proud to continue its tradition of hosting Kalayaan, an annual celebration of Philippine Independence. In past years, this event has brought together Members of the Legislative Assembly, Members of Parliament, City Councillors, and the Mayor for the ceremonial raising of the Philippine flag at Civic Square.

This year, Kalayaan 2025 will be held on June 8th at Civic Square 1:00PM-2:00PM, uniting the community in a vibrant display of Filipino pride, heritage, and patriotism. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating our shared history and bright future!

SUPPORTING & WELCOMING

Rooted in its proud beginnings, FILCAS remains deeply committed to uplifting and enriching the Filipino community across Saskatchewan.

Honouring the legacy of those who came before us, FILCAS continues to grow as a vital organization that supports Filipino-Canadians of all ages and backgrounds. Today, this commitment is reflected in our efforts to welcome and assist new Filipino migrants as they establish their lives in the province, offering both a sense of belonging and practical support during their transition.

FILCAS also celebrates the strength and unity of our community through meaningful events—most recently our 2024 Winter Gala, a heartfelt evening dedicated to recognizing the incredible dedication of our volunteers and raising support for community programs. Additionally, we remain proud of our monthly bingo gatherings, created especially for our beloved seniors, providing them with fun, connection, and an ongoing sense of community.

With every event and initiative, FILCAS continues to honour its roots while embracing a vibrant and inclusive future for all Filipino-Canadians in Saskatchewan.
